| Hotel Santa Marta, opened in 1991, has always been directed by C.I.T.O. srl, a society for the enhancement of tourism in the Phlegrean fields, an area of peculiar naturalistic interest and endowed with an invaluable archaelogical inheritance. The name of the hotel, Santa Marta, recalls an ancient "xenodochius" (or house for the reception of pilgrims) with the same name which rose on the coast and was distroyed by the eruption of Monte Nuovo in 1538. |
